hey, what’s up? ;)

Want to be a part of our digital illuminated manuscript?

Opal Age encourages bold thought and theory collectively created by us — we need you! Opal Age Tribune implores you to celebrate the beautiful mundane.

Substantiate the void left by social media and go boldly against digital pessimism to ravenously seek leisure and pleasure. Create with a velvety lust for life. Wander with a curious childlike wonder; chase bubbles in the park.

Sip upon the nectar of our most wonderful future. Bask where we come to daydream about a future that is ours.

See ya later!

See ya later!

The editors are on vacation!

We’re on a break to take some time to bask in the sun, blow bubbles, contemplate existence, and redefine our realm.

Keep an eye out for our summer blogs, archive updates, and (in the near-ish future) theme release announcements.

If you wanna say hi, our dms are always open @opalage and of course, opalagetribune@gmail.com

Opal Age still dreams of you. <3

  • Please do! If you submit to more than one edition, you are an O.A.T. GOAT in our hearts.

  • Send your submission to opalagetribune@gmail.com

This is the only way to submit currently, please do not use our contact form on the website! We won’t answer (we promise!)

  • We release new themes before every zodiac season via The Gram (IG). Typically, the submission period lasts 2 weeks.

If none of the themes spark inspo this time, they change every month. Rest assured, we will get your creativity flowing at some point.

  • No minimum, 1000 word maximum. (for now…) >:)

  • Our magazine has the potential to get spicy at times, so we ask that those who submit are 18+

Otherwise, we encourage and treasure our intergenerational community to grow in all its aging glory.

  • No!

  • Currently, Opal Age has no payment structure available for creators.

Hell, we don’t even get paid yet!

Opal Age is a project run by hungry queers around the world.

  • The short answer is no! That’s our job!

Because of Opal Age’s design and format, your writing will likely be reformatted for readability across digital platforms. Please let us know if something cannot be changed.

  • Depends!

If we made a spelling mistake in your name/ handle/ titles, totally!

We will not allow any changes to the design once published. (colors, fonts, readability aids, etc.)

If you find our ethereal designs not in alignment with your creative vision, please let us know before the full edition is published to Instagram. (This happens over the course of the week after submission)

  • Opal Age is a space dedicated and created by queer community.

We use words like “queer” as to not be limited in our scope. After all, we dream borderlessly.

It is not required to disclose your identity to us. This is to honor the private lives of those who submit. Please do not assume the identity, in turn, of those who submit.

We will always shamelessly be a queer creative collective but we know too well the confines of the closet and societal dangers queer individuals face internationally.

It is our assumption and practice that those who submit are in solidarity with the queer community; our struggles and our limitless capacity for joy.
