Performance submissions are closed, but you can explore this page to get a preview of the concepts you’ll see in our next edition.
Each edition of Opal Age Tribune follows a different theme. Here you’ll find everything you need to know about the current theme, including inspiration, the kind of vibe you should channel, and pieces that have previously been published in Opal Age Tribune. Performance
What does this theme mean? Everything is a performance, we’ve all seen the quotes. Performances as subconscious apparitions or intentional displays. We’re thinking about performances on a grand scale (globe trotting troubadours) and performances on a miniscule scale (hair salon reference photo panic). This edition intends to explore interpretations of performance in daily life and beyond. Performance is our expression. How do you act out your mind’s desires? Show us how you show up.
What are we looking for? We’re looking for your interpretation of the theme. More mundane requirements are outlined in depth on our submissions page. To give you an idea: non-fiction or fiction, poetry, personal essays, makeup looks, critiques, fickle thoughts, theory, philosophies, documentation of performances (photography, live tweets, outfits, literal performances, performance art, etc) We accept submissions expressed in most mediums with the exception of video and audio creations.
Who can submit? Anyone and everyone. Aspiring creatives or those who have already been in the spotlight. See our submissions page for more details.
